Tuition in fly tying can be arranged subject to availability of an instructor, at any convenient time. The tuition can then be tailored to suit the pupil, and would cover all the basic techniques of tying-in, bodies, hackles, wings and much more. Sessions would normally be two hours, either morning or afternoon. This is usually sufficient to allow pupils to tie a fly or two, which they could then use on our water.
FISHING COURSES TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Tuition, guiding, courses and fishing day tickets are all available to non-residents of the hotel. The course and tuition prices include all fishing charges and tackle hire, but not an EA rod licence* or any accommodation, unless otherwise stated. For accommodation charges please see hotel tariff. A ‘full day’ covers a minimum of four hours with an instructor; plus fishing on the beat for the day. A ‘half day’ covers a minimum of two hours with an instructor; plus fishing for the remainder of the morning or afternoon session. Deposit: We request a 50% course fee deposit per participant on booking. This deposit will be returned if you give us more than 31 days notice of cancellation.
* The Environment Agency have reviewed the way fishing licences are sold, and are ending the system of Retained Agents. As from 1 April 2017 the Arundell Arms will no longer be a licence agent. The responsibility to have a licence is that of the angler. Licences must be obtained before fishing, and can be obtained from the Post Office, by phone on 0344 800 5386, or from www.gov.uk/get-a-fishing-licence.
