Fishing For Heroes Dinner – Sat 2nd June
We request your company for a dinner and charity auction in aid of Fishing for Heroes. Not only will it be an excellent and enjoyable evening but there are some great lots to bid on and prizes to be won. Fishing for Heroes provides fully funded fly fishing courses as part of an on-going therapy package for veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, combat fatigue or any other emotional or psychological problem relating to them having been involved in active service. At the moment it can take years for a veteran to receive the necessary help they require. We want to rectify this. Every veteran who is sleeping on the streets or is suffering, is one too many. The first part of the therapy package is to teach fly fishing. This is a well known and accepted therapy for people suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and other emotional problems. To achieve this, Fishing for Heroes provides accommodation, transport expenses, all tuition and fishing fees as part of a programme to rehabilitate these people. Cost: £55 per person.

Westcountry Sea Trout Festival Thurs 26th - Mon 30th July inc.
We are proud to present the third annual Westcountry Sea Trout Festival – a celebration of Devon and Cornwall’s most exciting game fish. This year’s event has been moved to coincide with what is usually the prime week of night fishing at The Arundell Arms. Each night, anglers will enjoy what is surely the pinnacle of the fly fisher’s art, on the rivers Tamar and Lyd on the Devon/Cornwall border. Now in its third year, the festival has proven most popular with experienced trout fishers looking for a new challenge. We find that once bitten by the night fishing bug, there is no going back! Each morning, the Arundell Arms instructors, David Pilkington and Tim Smith, will run a series of workshops, demonstrations and tuition events. In the afternoons, you can choose to walk your allocated beat with our ghillies and instructors and pick their brains about where the fish lie and the best way to approach them. In addition, the instructors and other local guides will be on the beats each night to offer help and advice. There will be a fishing tackle prize for the largest sea trout caught, measured and released during the festival.
