You will skirt rocky outcrops, pass stone circles and standing stones and ride for hours on end, hardly seeing a road or a vehicle. At times you'll enjoy the thrill of riding faster over the long stretches of grasslands and at others you’ll need to take it quite steady. Throughout you will be supported by an experienced guide who has intimate knowledge of the moor and its changing moods so you and your horse can relax and enjoy the raw beauty of magical Dartmoor.

The West Moor Ride takes in locations used in the War Horse movie, with extensive rides across the breathtaking expanses of the West Moor.

 

Explore the vastness of Dartmoor with the Tens Tors Ride; the perfect ride for people looking to get lost in nature for a little while.

 

At the end of each day, you’ll finish the trail at a privately owned stable yard in a perfect setting, where you’ll be able to un-tack and settle your horse, relax over a cup of tea or a cold beer and share stories of a great day in the saddle with your new friends.

 

While you look after your horse, we will take care of all the preparations for the next day including, if you wish, the stable work, tack cleaning and getting your kit prepared for the next day’s adventure. Once the horses are settled, we’ll take you back to the hotel where you can enjoy a relaxing bath and perhaps a massage before dinner followed by a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed. Next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll be taken back to the yard where your horse will be relaxed and ready to ride out for another amazing day.
