COURSE 2
Beginners' stillwater fly fishing
A weekend residential course

There are two problems for anyone starting to fish lakes and reservoirs - where to find the fish and how to cast well enough to catch them. Not easy, but in two days we hope to get you well on the way to success.

Evening of Arrival
7.30 pm Welcome and introduction.
   
Day One  
9.30 am - 10.15 am Lecture - Fishing safety, the fish, insect life, tackle and tactics, hooking, playing and landing the fish.
10.30 am - 1.00 pm Casting on the hotel lake.
1.00 pm - 2.00 pm Lunch at hotel.
2.00 pm - 2.30 pm Casting video replay (hotel).
2.45 pm - 5.30 pm Casting and fishing at hotel lake.
6.00 pm - 7.00 pm Fishermen's knots (hotel).
   
Day Two  
9.30 am - 10.15 am Lecture - Fishing techniques on small lakes, reservoirs and lochs.
10.30 am - 5.00 pm Lake fishing with instructor (packed lunch).
5.00 pm - 6.00 pm Course summing up and prize giving.*
   
*Prizegiving for everyone who completes the course will be one day's free trout fishing on our lake, either following the course or at any time during 2007 or 2008 and a free copy of The Arundell Arms Beginners' Fly Fishing Guide.

Tackle
There is no need to buy tackle in advance. We provide everything you need. If you have your own fly rod please bring it with you and we can advise if it is suitable for stillwater fishing.

Course 2 – Dates 2008 (Beginners' Still Water)
Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd March (arrive Friday)
Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th March (arrive Friday)

Charges per person
Two-day beginners' course fee, including tackle and VAT
£225.00 adult £145.00 under 17
Please see separate tariff for hotel accommodation and meal charges.

Deposit
When booking would you please enclose a deposit of £100.00 per course participant. This deposit will be returned if you give us more than 31 days notice of cancellation.
